Business Development Manager

We are looking for a competitive and trustworthy Business Development Manager whose primary role is to generate new and retain business opportunities for the company, by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business relationships. 

BDM responsibilities include discovering and pursuing new sales prospects, negotiating deals and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Minimum qualifications

 •Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or related field. 

 •Wide experience in all aspects of insurance sales.

 •Reasonable understanding of contractual and legal principles. 

 •Insurance background with at least 5 years’ experience in insurance industry

 •Proven negotiation and interpersonal skills with similar level of management.

 •Ability to discuss and negotiate with Insurers on technical insurance points.

 •Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Duties and responsibilities

 •Identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services

 •Have a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about them

 •Contact potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings

 •Understand the needs of the customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these needs

 •Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business

 •Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes

 •Retain existing clients by handling all related matters during the policy year.

 •Attend training, seminars, conferences and events where appropriate

 •Develop goals for the development team and business growth and ensure they are met. 

 •Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management.

To excel in this role, the applicant should be an active listener, have a compelling sales personality, and a hunger to chase and close new business from cold calls and inbound warm leads.
